Rancho Rosenhill started with a foundation mare named "Island of Eden" 1991. We brought this mare to California in 2001. She is a Washington bred mare and was raced throughout Washington & Northern California. She had true speed and several times won by over 10 lengths! She came from a very strong female line, her dam & granddam won stakes races and produced stakes horses. Island of Eden developed into a stakes producing broodmare. Her life was cut short when contracted acute laminitis at age 13. We had her put to sleep in the fall of 2006 at age 15. All the horses on this site are her offspring or produced by her offspring. She has created a wonderful legacy.

In 2008 we purchased into the Stallion "Kitalpha" that stood at War Horse Place in Kentucky. He was a son of the world famous Mr Prospector and out of the outstanding champion mare Miesque. He has produced stakes horses in the southern hemisphere and has multiple winners and stakes winners now in the USA. He lost his life to cancer in 2012. Several of our horses were sired by Kitalpha.

"Billy's Echo"
1998 Bay Gelding
Billy had an outstanding race career from 2001 (winning his very first race) to 2007 when he retired. His total earnings surpassed the $340,000 mark. He was both a stakes winner and was stakes placed several times. He won the first running of the Flame Thrower Stakes at Hollywood Park. Billy’s Echo won races at every major Southern California track – Del Mar , Hollywood Park, Santa Anita & Fairplex. When he retired he had raced 40 times with 8 wins, 7 seconds and 4 thirds…He was a true RaceHorse!
Billy's Echo was the first foal out of Island of Eden. He was born in 1998 and is a Washington-Bred Bay Gelding. At age 9 he retired from racing sound and healthy. He even won a race his last year on the track at age 9!
Billy was re-trained into a wonderful life of pampering as a pleasure horse. He learned basic dressage and responded to natural horsemanship techniques with his caretaker Claudia Watson in Boise, ID.

"Dafne's Echo" 2001 Bay Filly
Dafne is a 2001, Washington-Bred Bay Filly. She is a full sister to Billy's Echo. She is a daughter of Island of Eden. Dafne's Echo won at Hollywood Park in her second race of her lifetime. She won a Maiden Special Weights race going 5 1/2 furlongs.

Dafne's Echo was retired to broodmare status due to a medical issue. She has foaled an outstanding colt named "Otto's Echo". See his bio below. She has an awesome 2012 Kitalpha filly that will soon be two years old. We look forward to great things here.

You can watch the webcam of her foals & foaling every spring click directly into her foaling stall to see all the excitment! She is due 4/15/14 with a Sundarbon foal.

Otto's Echo
2010 Bay Colt
By Kitalpha Out of Dafne's Echo
Otto’s Echo is a very special colt, he was named after my baby brother Otto who lost his battle with cancer at age 40. Otto was a spectacular man that lived an amazing life and I hope that Otto’s Echo will be a real tribute to his memory. Otto was born very late in the year so his training was held off until he matured. He completed his early training at the Los Laurenes Training center in Paso Robles, CA. Otto's first race of his life was a Maiden Special Weight Turf race at Santa Anita. This race ran so blistering fast that it set a new WORLD record that holds to today. Otto ran third and was up in the front for most of the race - an amazing feat for his first out.
Due to an injury we retired Otto's Echo to stud at Allaire Farms in Washington State. He will stand the 2017 season for Complementary Stud Fee to approved mares.
